Line Blocking is an easy technique that simplifies Scrapbooking. It has two simple, easy to remember rules.
The rules are thus:
1- Create Blocks.
2- Add Lines.
Easy!
"How do I create Blocks?"
Let's start at the beginning and go through a step by step process:
- Select your desired pictures.
- Select coordinating papers, embellishments, ribbons, or fibers, inks and anything else you may want to use on your page.
- Block your pictures. This means you may leave your picture as it is, or crop it into a rectangle or square. You may frame it, mat it, layer it, etc.
- Now block your embellishments. If you have a sticker, die cut, punch, or charm, mat it onto a square or rectangle paper, or frame it. Slide frames, shaker boxes, coin holders and tags count as a block themselves, but you may mat them or frame them if you wish.
- Block your title if you have one.
- Now, if you so desire; Distress your blocks: sand them, crumple them, smudge them with ink, etc. Be creative!
- Arrange your blocks onto your backdrop. (Do not glue them down yet.)
- Add lines. Your lines may be ribbons, fibers, strips of cut paper, torn paper, etc. You may position your lines anywhere you wish: diagonal, parallel, on the sides of your blocks in the middle underneath or on top of your blocks, connecting your blocks, separating your blocks, or any other way you wish. Add as many lines as you want.
- You may now add any charms, buckles, or ties to your lines.
- Adhere your lines.
- Adhere your blocks.
FINISHED!!!
